My discovery in teaching English

Hi, guys ! I'd invented several teaching problems in some government schools. You know English is taught as foreign language in my country. Here they are :

First, in the first year of primary school, students have been requested to write. I think that's totally incorrect. In the early stage of learning foreign language, they should frequently be exposed to hearing a lot of English words. And it seems that the teachers incline to give only written tasks, rather than oral practice. That's why the students never speak English. It's an excessive failure.

Second, in teaching how to spell, teachers insist on working with written symbols, that just direct the learners to spell by writing, not by saying it. What's worse is that this technique often appears in testing spelling.

Third, grammar discussion dominates the learning process. This makes the subject boring and meaningless. The students view the lesson as an activity of memorizing sets of rules.

Fourth, in organizing the materials the teacher does not apply the principles of difficulty/complexity graduation. Teachers tend to teach based on what makes them interested. That's why overlapping in materials organization often occurs.

Fifth, lack in the presence of forums in which English is spoken. Very often such officials meeting as seminar, training, and others are only used to get certificates that, in turn, the owner will use it as a means of self upgrading. That's sorry. In my country there seems obvious that certificate is much more important than the real skill that one possesses. That's why many job seekers are rich in certificates, but poor in competence.

To be continued.....
